Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and lefty guitarist Malina Moye unveiled a long-awaited EP "Bad As I Wanna Be" on March 23, 2018.
The EP premiered exclusively on PARADE Magazine and preceded by the lead single "Betta Than U" on March 20th.
"Bad As I Wanna Be" is her first EP in four years since "Rock & Roll Baby".
The EP comprises of 6-track and produced by Bjorn "Polarbear" Soderberg. Off course you can hear her incredible guitar play, but on "Jumpin" and you will confirm her another pop music and her talented as a songwriter.
She told Guitar World about the new EP;
"The record's sound is a reflection of my DNA growing up in Ohio and Minnesota. Being influenced by the Minneapolis sound, I can't help but blend funk, rock and soul. I'd like to think I'm concocting my own musical identity within today's music landscape and have always looked at myself as the next generation of that sound with the goal of evolving and creating something contemporary.
This record is for you. If you feel under appreciated, overlooked or like you just don't matter, then celebrate yourself—be your own super hero. This album was a personal letter from me to whoever will listen. It's about redefining the status quo and being unapologetically you."- Malina Moye co-founded the WCE label, an outlet for her recordings, with filmmaker Marc Fusco in 2004 and released a debut song "Alone". Since then she has released a debut EP "Need Your Lovin", a debut album "Diamonds & Guitars" and the second EP "Rock & Roll Baby".
In 2012, she was one of the featured guitarists in the Experience Hendrix tour beside the likes of Eric Gales, Eric Johnson, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Additionally, she performed in a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to Chuck Berry. - source : Guitar World
