Blige, Alessia Cara, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Elton John & P!nk & Logic, Florence + The Machine, The Killers, Lady Gaga, Mumford & Sons, Queens Of The Stone Age, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
Another one is "Restoration: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin", which features country-style covers.
On March 17th, American rapper Q-Tip dropped “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” featuring Demi Lovato with a accompanying music video from the album "Revamp".
Original version for “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” was released in 1976 by Elton John and Kiki Dee. It was written by Elton John and his longtime songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin. This song became John’s first #1 single in the UK and his sixth #1 in the US.
When the song released, Kiki Dee said of the song, "Both Elton and I were big fans of those duets on Motown by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell and there hadn’t been any around for a bit—we thought we’d do one ourselves."
Elton John told Rolling Stone in 1976, “I was messing around in the studio one day on the electric piano and came up with the title line.”-
About the tribute album, Elton John said in a press release;
“It’s always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it. It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences. We’re humbled and thank them all for their generosity.” - z3xnWJGbx7o
