Iggy Azalea Premieres New Song “Savior” featuring Quavo
- Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has delivered a new song “Savior” via streaming music services. This time, she has collaborated with American rapper Quavo for the song.
The track is the lead single off of her upcoming sophomore album "Surviving the Summer", which will be released this year.
After some issues of previous singles “Mo Bounce” and “Switch”, the new song was released. She wasn't allowed to release music until January 2018, as she signed with a new label. Also, Genius and Tidal mistakenly revealed that Dr. Luke co-wrote and co-produced the song, which sparked (another) backlash. She tweeted, “It’s produced by [Cirkut] and another kid MHL who have production agreements with Luke. Their deals and who they are tied in with business wise in no way make ME ‘working’ with Dr Luke. Try again.” Afterwards, the disgraced producer was removed from the credits of the aforementioned websites.
Anyway, she is back now from a dark time.
- The 27-year-old said about the somg in a behind-the-scenes video;
“It is not a record about you needing a man or a woman to come and save you in a relationship. It’s about you being your own savior and finding your own strength within yourself to figure it the fuck out.
[The song] was created at a time when I felt so stagnant & alone, but I just couldn’t pick up the phone and admit to even my closest friends how hopeless I felt. So I hope I can connect with anyone else that’s been/going thru it via this song.”
