At just 16 years old, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Aidan James has released a new song "What My Friends Talk About" via streaming music services. The song was premiered exclusively on POPMATTERS last December.
The track is his first single in two years and written by Aidan James, Tony Ferrari and Max Allyn.
The song is middle tempo with comfortable guitar riff like R&B and 80's pop sound. It reminds us of John Mayer. But basically he plays ukulele.
Originally from Hawaii, currently Aidan James is living in Los Angeles. At just 8 years old, Aidan became a YouTube “sensation” when a video of him performing Train’s “Hey Soul Sister”, which earned over 20 million views to date.
He debuted with a first single "One of the Ones" in 2014, followed by a debut EP "Live Again" was released. The EP was nominated for Hawaii’s prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Award for EP of the Year and Contemporary Album of the Year respectively.
In 2015, he released a debut album "Echoes". The album comprised 11-track, in which he co-produced and co-wrote, collaborating with songwriters from Hawaii, LA and Nashville.
Recently, he joined in Train's "Sail Across the Sun" tour from Miami to Jamaica with Phillip Phillips, Michael Franti, Andy Grammer and Rachel Platten.- source : POPMATTERS
