- Fall Out Boy Premieres New Music Video for “Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)”
- American rock band Fall Out Boy has dropped a new music video for “Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)” directed by Y2K. In the video, Fall Out Boy film a fake informercial for a stream of ridiculous products.
They performed the song live on "Fall Out Boy: The M A N I A Tour" for the first time.
The song is taken from their upcoming seventh studio album "Mania", which is set to be released on January 19, 2018.
Originally, the new album was supposed to release in 2016, but the band decided to delay its release. The band rewrote most of the album last summer.
Bassist Pete Wentz told Rolling Stone, "he songs were trying to serve everybody, but they weren't going to be compelling to anybody."
"Wilson" is known as a volleyball of Tom Hanks' film "Cast Away". On the film, his plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean in a violent storm. But he was survived on uninhabited island along with a volleyball of the packages. After the plane crashed, he draws a face in the bloody hand print on the ball, names it Wilson, and begins talking to it. The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis and released in 2000.
