Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Cassie Premieres New Music Video for “Don't Play It Safe”
American singer-songwriter Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, aka Cassie dropped a new music video for "Don't Play It Safe", directed by Life Garland.
The song was released on December 22, 2017 and written by Cassie and KAYTRANADA, who also produced it.
She said about working with KAYTRANADA in a statement "Kay and I have been working on this project for a while now. I look forward to everyone hearing what we have in store. He just gets me."
The track is the second single off her upcoming sophomore album and the follow up to her G-Eazy-assisted song, “Love a Loser”.
It is a mid-tempo R&B song which mixes perfectly her trademark sultry vocals and KAYTRANADA’s signature sound.
The video is part of Cassie's 10-minute short film, which was premiered in October 2017.
About the video, Cassie said;
“I wanted to do something different from a regular music video, which I still have. But I worked with Harrison Boyce, he directed it, and I really enjoyed being part of it.”-
