About the new song and the new album, frontman of the band Chris Carrabba said;
"I thought for sure it was just about how I found a place in the world, which was worth fighting for, which was the music scene that I come from. I wasn’t cool in school. I didn’t fit in.
Every album is personal, but as this album was coming together I realized, especially as the world’s political climate was rapidly changing, that 'personal' did not necessarily mean 'mine' – suddenly, 'me' became 'we' and that realization was empowering, comforting and terrifying all at once."
- Dashboard Confessional was formed in 1999, currently consisting of Chris Carrabba (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano), Scott Schoenbeck (bass), Armon Jay (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Chris Kamrada (drums, percussion). The band debuted in 2000, since then, the group has released six albums.
The name of the band is derived from the song "The Sharp Hint of New Tears" off their debut album "The Swiss Army Romance".
On October 6th, Chris Carrabba announced that the bands seventh studio album was in the works in an interview with MTV.
