Sam Smith Premieres New Song “Pray” and Announces 2018 North American Tour
English singer-songwriter Sam Smith has shared a new song “Pray” from his upcoming sophomore album “The Thrill of It All” as a promotional single.
The song is produced by Timbaland and Jimmy Napes. The gospel-inspired track finds Smith fronting a choir as he sings about searching for hope in desperate times.
The new album sets to be released on November 3, 2017 and is his first LP in three years since a debut album “In the Lonely Hour”.
And he announced a 2018 North American tour in support of the new album. The tour embarks at Air Canada Centre in Toronto on June 18 and wraps up at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on September 13, 2018.

Also, he will perform two songs from his new album as musical guest on Saturday Night Live on October 7th.-
About the new album, he told Zane Lowe of Apple Baeats 1;
“For the first two months, I really struggled because I realized I didn't actually like myself a lot. When you drink a lot, when you go out too much, the next day isn't so fun. And when you're really supersensitive and emotional, like I am, it's just not good for you.
In the Lonely Hour sounds pretty to me. This album doesn't sound pretty to me. I want this to be more gritty. I want it to sound older, a bit more uncomfortable. In the Lonely Hour is a gin and tonic with your friends. The new album is a whiskey by yourself in a dark room, at night, thinking about life. I went into a deep place. I don't think I'm going to go into that place ever again, because it got a bit too deep” - source : Rolling Stone
