Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Emeli Sandé Premieres New Song “Starlight” on BBC Radio 1
London-based singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé has released a new song called "Starlight". The track will appear on her forthcoming second EP "Kingdom Coming", which will be released on November 3, 2017.
The song recived its first play during Annie Mac’s show on BBC Radio 1 last night.
It was co-written by Grammy award-winning, Canadian songwriter The Weeknd.
She announced her first ever arena tour which will include a date at The O2 on 18 October.
She will also be taking part in the Give A Home For Human Rights, which will see 1,000 musicians to perform across 300 shows in 60 countries. She is due to play a concert in the front room of Sam Branson’s London home.
Other artists taking part are Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, The National and Jessie Ware.-
About the new song and the EP, Emeli Sandé said;
“It’s a song all about falling in love, and something I can definitely dance to and it reflects somewhere where I’m at in my life. Falling in love with someone is an amazing experience.
[The last few years have] been a very big learning curve for me and a period of growth. I feel like I have come into womanhood now and I feel very secure in who I am. But I had to learn some hard lessons.
I still believe in the album. I’m beginning the album process now for next year. I feel this EP is the bridge to where I want the album to go." - source : BBC Radio 1
