Sam Smith Premieres New Song “Too Good At Goodbyes” on Zane Lowe's Apple Beats 1
English singer-songwriter Sam Smith has unveiled a new song "Too Good At Goodbyes" from his upcoming sophomore album "TPH-50HR". The track is his first single in two years since "Writing's on the Wall". It was written by Sam Smith, Jimmy Napes and Stargate.
The track recieved its first play during Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show on Apple Music. The piano-led song finds the singer pulling away from a volatile relationship.
The new album will be available in two versions: one with 10 tracks, the other with 14 and it will be released before Christmas.
On the album, he worked with Jimmy Napes again, who co-wrote several songs, including "Stay With Me" and "Writing's on the Wall". Also, he collaborated with American rapper Timbaland.
He announced four intimate shows to kick off his album cycle in Los Angeles (September 11th), New York (September 13th), London (September 15th) and Berlin (September 18th).
About the new song, he told Zane Lowe;
"This song is about me and about a relationship I was in. This album actually is not all about me. There's about four songs that are about me, and the rest are about different things and different people in my life and what they've gone through. It was so important when I was writing this record for me to just challenge myself and be scared again."-
