  • Emma Stevens Premieres New Music Video for “To My Roots”

  • Last month, British singer-songwriter Emma Stevens released her third studio album "To My Roots" for the first time in three years since "Waves".

    On August 17, she dropped a new music video for album title track, directed by Johnny Schumann. The music video was premiered exclusively on The Telegraph. The song was written by Emma Stevens and Charlie Midnight.
    The video was created with animation, it reminds us of A-ha’s "Take on Me" video.
    Also, she embarks her own tour to promote from August 20th through October in United Kingdom. Learn more about tour dates, click here.

    About the video, she said;
    "Regardless of how far you travel, where you have gone in your life, there is always a yearning to return home, to your roots, to the place and landscape that knows you… and to the place where you best know yourself. I really wanted to create a music video that takes you on a bit of a journey, too. I filmed each shot, and then sent it to a team of animators, who drew me, and brought me to life in an "old story book" kind of way. I have always loved the old Winnie the Pooh sketches, and I wanted to create something that was similar and nostalgic. I think this is one of my favourite music videos."
  • The new album contains 14-track, she explained about the album, "The songs as all written from my heart and soul to convey beautiful messages based on feelings of loss, happiness, nature, my love for the ocean and my love for people."
    She started her music career as a session musician playing guitar and piano. In 2012, she embarked a solo career and decided that the first album would be released initially as a series of four EPs. Because, her mother Tina Stevens was diagnosed with cancer and had been strongly encouraging Emma's solo career. Tina Stevens designed the cover artwork that would be used, in four sections, for each of the EPs. Her mother died in 2012.
    Her debut album "Enchanted" was released in 2013.
