American singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee has delivered a new song "Thorns" via stream music services.
The sound is different from previous song, which was ’80s-influenced electro-pop.
The new song is taken from her sophomore album (still untitled) following "Stars In Your Heart". The new album is her first LP in 13 years.
Two years ago, she released her second EP "Bombastic", at that time, she told Idolator about her new album, “I really am looking forward to doing a full length, but I’m just putting this EP to see what happens, see what opportunities come my way. I have a whole album’s worth of material that I wrote when I was on Epic ready to go. There will be a full length, or you know what, there’s a possibility I may just do EPs and be like, ‘Here’s a batch, here’s a batch, here’s a batch.’ They could all be totally different, there are no rules."
No further details on the project are available at this time.
Recently, she performed live on Rixton's tour and Karmin's "Pulses Tour".-

She told Billboard about the new song;
"'Thorns' is kind of an unapologetic proclamation that I’m not always a ray of sunshine, and that my sometimes aloof demeanor can be misinterpreted as rejection or being cold. On the contrary, I’m quite vulnerable, but I am a complicated, multidimensional woman and that can sometimes be intimidating for people."
And she added;
"I am currently writing more for myself, rehearsing to play some shows, and making music videos -- my favorite part!" - source : Idolator
