Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Lucy Rose Premieres New Music Video for “Second Chance”
London-based singer-songwriter Lucy Rose dropped a new music video for "Second Chance" directed by Joe Connor.
Th song was taken from her third studio album "Something's Changing", which was released on July 7, 2017.
The track received its first play during BBC Radio 6 Live Session on July 4.
The new album contains 11-track and she recorded in 17 days with producer Tim Bidwell, along with bassist Ben Daniel and drummer Chris Boot in Brighton. The album features appearances from The Staves, Daughter's Elena Tonra and Matthew and The Atlas' Emma Gatrill.
About the song, she said;
"Second Chance' was inspired by a conversation I had with my husband’s great aunt on New Year's Eve. She was looking at an old photo of herself and said "Look how lovely I was! It's funny that I could only think that now of myself as an old lady. Looking back but at the time, I would never have thought that". It really struck a chord with me as I can definitely relate to that. So, I decided from that point onwards that I wanted to use her hindsight and learn from it and see myself differently. Love myself for who I am and not wish to be anything different."
Also, she wrote about the video on her Facebook;
"I had the idea to make it with Elinor Barker, the amazing British Olympian cyclist and by some miracle she said yes to the idea. I then found Joe Connor to direct the video, I'm a huge fan of his and couldn't quite believe it when he said yes too."- She will perform live at Bestival 2017 in Dorset, UK on September 7. In addition to Lucy Rose, the festival features The xx, Justice, A Tribe Called Quest, Little Dragon, Dizzee Rascal, Pet Shop Boys, DJ Shadow, Mr. Scruff, Danny Brown, Jamie T, and more.
After Bestival 2017, she played at Always The Sun 2017 alongside Public Service Broadcasting, Dreadzone, The Strypes, Tall Ships, Meadowlark, TRAAMS, IDLES, Sapphire, Trudy and the Romance, and more in Guildford, UK on September 8-10.
