American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips has released a new song "Miles". The song is his first single in three years since settling a contentious lawsuit against the show’s parent company, 19 Entertainment. It was co-written by Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra) and Lindsay Rimes.
The song is taken from his upcoming third studio album. His last album "Behind the Light" was released three years ago. The new album is expected to be released later in 2017.
He is currently on the road for a summer tour with Goo Goo Dolls through September. He is performing “Miles” and other tracks from his third album.

About the new song, Phillip Phillips said;
“It has been a tough three years, but it feels so good to have this song out. My wife has definitely been a big support and the song is really about [us] because she was with me through all of this these past few years. It’s about sticking together, powering through and getting to this point that we’re at right now. Every artist says, ‘This is my best material to date,’ but I think it is. Musically, it goes so many different places. But, it’s still all me. I’m seeing fans are still sticking with me even though it has been three years, and I’m just thrilled. I’m still able to keep living my dream."-
