Randy Newman Performs New Song “Putin” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
American singer-songwriter Randy Newman appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he performed a new song "Putin".
The song is included on his upcoming 11th studio album "Dark Matter", due out August 4, 2017.
He debuted the song in the weeks before the 2016 U.S. presidential election. This time, on TV program, he performed it while a montage of occasionally shirtless Putin photos played on the screens behind him.
The new album is his first LP in 9 years, featuring songs about the Kennedy brothers, legendary blues musician Sonny Boy Williamson, science and religion and more.
Randy Newman is known for writing eight Disney-Pixar animated films "Toy Story", "A Bug's Life", "Toy Story 2", "Monsters, Inc.", "Cars", "Toy Story 3", "Monsters University" and "Cars 3", as well as Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" and "James and the Giant Peach".
He won three Emmys, six Grammy Awards, and the Governor's Award from the Recording Academy.
