- Kelela Premieres New Song “LMK” on Apple Beats 1
- American R&B singer-songwriter Kelela Mizanekristos, aka Kelela has delivered a new song "LMK" from her upcoming debut album "Take Me Apart", which is expected to be released on October 6, 2017.
The song recived its first play during Apple Zane Lowe’s Beats 1.
She announced that the title of her debut album on July 14 and revealed the cover art of the album.
The debut album features 14-track, produced by Arca and Jam City, who worked with her on "Hallucinogen" and "Cut 4 Me".
About the debut album, she said;
"Despite it being a personal record, the politics of my identity informs how it sounds and how I choose to articulate my vulnerability and strength. I am a black woman, a second-generation Ethiopian-American, who grew up in the 'burbs listening to R&B, jazz and Björk. All of it comes out in one way or another."
- Kelela debuted with her mixtape "Cut 4 Me" for free in 2013. She singed to Warp Records and released a debut EP "Hallucinogen" in 2015. The EP reached number four on the US Dance chart.
In 2017, she joined in Gorillaz's "Submission" along with Danny Brown.
