- Lights Premieres New Music Video for “Skydiving”
- Toronto-based singer-songwriter Valerie Anne Poxleitner, aka Lights premiered a new music video for "Skydiving".
The song follows up "Giants" and taken from her upcoming fourth studio album "Skin and Earth", which is expected to be released this fall.
Also the same name of the album, a comic book series are designed by Lights, who will be supporting the comic release at Comic-Con International 2017 next week, as well as appearing at Monday's Alternative Press Music Awards.
Her new music will be released with each edition on a monthly basis until the album is released in full.
About the album campaign, she said;
"I feel my whole life has lead up to a project like this. It's a complete convergence of everything I love - music, comics, post-apocalyptic romance, crystals, wine and powerful ladies, all perfectly entwined. It'll be by far my most care-free and fierce album yet. I think now, more than ever, people need a reason to listen to a whole record, and this is mine."
- Lights started as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2007 and composed music for the television series "Instant Star".
She released a self-titled EP in 2008 on the independent record label Underground Operations.
Her debut album "The Listening" was released in 2009 via Universal. It reached number seven on the Canadian Albums chart.
She released her second album "Siberia" in 2011 and third album "Little Machines" in 2014, respectively. "Little Machines" has sold over 2.5 million copies.
She won New Artist of the Year at the 2009 Juno Award and two 2009 Astral Media Radio awards during Canadian Music Week as well as, she won Pop Album of the Year at the 2015 Juno Award with "Little Machines".
