Irish rock band The Script has released a new song "Rain" with a music video. The song was premiered exclusively on MTV.
The track is taken from their forthcoming fifth studio album (yet-untitled), news of which will be announced in the coming weeks. The new album is their first LP in almost three years since "No Sound Without Silence".
The band began teasing their new album since late 2016. They did so by releasing various sneak peeks of songs from the album throughout the year. "Rain" is official first single off.
About the song, the band said;
"After a very long process of making Album 5, the song Rain came right at the end. It’s a summer song so we thought, only the Script can make it Rain in Summer"-
The Script was formed in 2001, consisting of Danny O'Donoghue (lead vocals), Mark Sheehan (lead guitar) and Glen Power (drums).
The band released a debut album "The Script" in 2008, which peaked at number one in both Ireland and the UK.
In 2010, their sophomore album "Science & Faith" was released, and reached number one in Ireland and the UK again.
The third album "#3" and the fourth album "No Sound Without Silence" were released in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Both album reached number one in Ireland.
The band has won three Meteor Ireland Music Awards and two World Music Awards. - source : MTV
