American rock band The Killers premiered a new music video for “The Man" on VEVO. Directed by Tim Mattia.
The song was released on June 14, from their upcoming fifth studio album "Wonderful Wonderful". The new album will feature guest appearances from Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) and Brian Eno.
The track was sampled from Kool & The Gang's "Spirit of the Boogie" and David Bowie's "Fame". Both songs were released in 1975, having guitar riff with wow-wow effect.
The single cover is used photo of frontman Brandon Flowers youngest son Henry.
About the song, Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. stated;
"largely about how when we were younger we felt invincible. What it meant to be a ‘man’ in your 20’s. Sort of your chest out, the breadwinner, nothing could stop you, invincible sort of thing. It’s sort of tongue-and-cheeking that, how that is not really the point of being a man at all. It’s actually more about compassion and empathy.”
The band is set to release the album "Wonderful Wonderful" on September 20, 2017.-
