Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Grace VanderWaal Premieres New Song “Moonlight”
2016 America's Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal has released a new song "Moonlight". Last December she released a debut EP "Perfectly Imperfect", which peaked number 9 on on the US Billboard 200. The song follows up it, and written by Grace VanderWaal and Ido Zmishlany, who also produced.
She performed the song live for the first time on the YouTube OnStage at VidCon on June 22.
About the song, the 13-year-old singer said;
“’Moonlight’ is about somebody you know very well changing unnaturally over time right in front of you and pushing you away, so you want to help bring them back to their original self.”
Grace VanderWaal won the eleventh season of the NBC TV competition show America's Got Talent at age 12. She signed to Columbia Records. Simon Cowell pegged her as the potential next Taylor Swift.
Also she won the 2017 Radio Disney Music Award for Best New Artist.
She is currently working on her debut album, which is expected to be released in September 2017. Comparing to her debut EP, about the album, "more produced ... really the same sound ... [but] less acoustic", she said.
She will perform at the Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival in July.-
