- The Killers Premieres New Song “The Man” on BBC Radio 1
- American rock band The Killers has released a new song "The Man" on VEVO. The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac on June 14.
The track is the first single off their upcoming fifth studio album "Wonderful Wonderful", which is expected to be released on September 20, 2017.
The new song was recorded with producer Jacknife Lee during sessions in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
The new album will feature the guest appearances from Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) and Brian Eno. Also the band worked with variety of producers and songwriters including Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), Jacknife Lee, Alex Cameron and Jack Antonoff (Fun. and Steel Train) on the new album.
According to a press release, The Killers’ new album is “soon-to-be completed” and is “shaping up to be their most sonically forward-thinking record yet; an LP bursting with all of the blazing choruses and arena-filling anthems”. The new album is their first LP in 5 years since "Battle Born".
About the new album, the band's drummer Ronnie Vannucci told NME;
“It’s sounding good. We have a problem with taking two steps forward and one step back, so that makes it take longer. We keep asking ourselves: ‘What does a four- piece band do? How do you keep it fresh?’ It’s a constant exercise in experimentation. We’re trying to arrive at something we’re all just a little bit uncomfortable with. When everyone is slightly uncomfortable, then we know we’re there. We’re just pushing it in different directions, then bringing it back and trying another direction."
The band embarks their own tour to promote the new album at Tinderbox Festival in Denmark on June 22, 2017. The tour takes place in Europe and North America through to October.
