Finnish singer-songwriter Emelie Sederholm, aka VENIOR has delivered a new song "Wildflower" via streaming music services.
The song was written by Alex Shield and Emelie Sederholm. She performed the song live for the first time at Reeperbahn Festival 2015.
The track is first single in a year since "Robber".
About the new song, she wrote on her Facebook page;
"I was born with a strong voice. It’s a gift I’ve been given and I want to use my voice to fuel a change.
We are brought up to a reality that consists of earning as much money as possible in a society that constantly tells us that we’re not enough. We gotta do more, better, faster, spend as much as we can to make the system go around. Slowly killing the planet, our home, ourselves, while we busy counting numbers on touch screens.
It breaks my heart to see flames burning out by fear, it breaks my heart to see human kind destroying the earth we have been given and the life that we share. It breaks my heart to see the eco-system put out of balance in the name of profit and economical growth. It breaks my heart but my heart is still burning and I’m gonna use the fire to shed a light around me.
I’m sharing my song “Wildflower” with the world, to inspire people to discover their power, their freedom, their ability to live out their true potential. There is a whole new world waiting for us if we stop shrinking ourselves, stop trying to fit into a narrow minded idea of life that somebody else planted in our brains.
We are wildflowers. Growing against the wind, but through the pain we will learn, grow and blossom."-
- Emelie Sederholm signed to Elements Music in 2012 at the age of 17. In the same year, she released a debut song "Breathe Deep, Fall Slowly".
In 2015, she released "Sugar Rush" as VENIOR via Sony Music Entertainment. Her second single "Na Na Na" and third single "Robber" was released in January and April 2016, each.
She joined in Swedish DJ John De Sohn's "Control" and La View's "Flashlight" as guest vocals in 2016. Recently, she collaborated with Fox.i.e on his debut song "Snow", which was released February 2017.
