American singer-songwriter Selena Gomez is Back. She dropped a new song "Bad Liar" on VEVO and Spotify. She posted snippet of the new song last week on Instagram. The new single follows up "It Ain't Me" with Norwegian DJ Kygo, which was released on February 16, 2017.
The track was written by Selena Gomez along with Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, who worked with Selena Gomez on her second studio album, 2015’s “Revival”.
The track's the bass line appears to be sampled from Talking Heads' 1977 hit "Psycho Killer."
Justin Tranter told Variety about the new song;
“Selena and Julia are Talking Heads-obsessed. So when we all got together in one room, Julia suggested, ‘Why don’t we just write over the bassline from ‘Psycho Killer?’ and we were all going, ‘That sounds great! One of those magical moments where the song just comes together very quickly and felt so good. The lyrics are really cool and descriptive about when you first start having feelings for someone, but don’t want to admit it, which turns you into a ‘Bad Liar.’”
On the cover photo, she wears the hospital bracelet and bandaged wrist, because she took the picture after diagnosis at the hospital.
