- Miley Cyrus Premieres New Song “Malibu” with Music Video
- American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus premiered a new song "Malibu" on Spotify and dropped the music video on VEVO. She teased preview of the video via Twitter in earlier this week and unveiled the cover art for the song on Instagram.
The song was written by Miley Cyrus herself and is taken from her upcoming sixth studio album, which is expected to be released later in 2017. Accoroding to Billboard, she has already created 10 songs with producer Oren Yoel .
She will perform live the new song at Billboard Music Awards on May 21st.
About the new song, she told Billboard in the interview;
"On the way to The Voice. I drive myself everywhere, but that day I decided to Uber, and I was trying not to sing out loud because someone else was in the car.
They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, “This is how I feel'?"
And she said about the new album;
“This record is a reflection of the fact that yes, I don’t give a fuck, but right now is not a time to not give a fuck about people. I’m giving the world a hug and saying, ‘Hey, look. We’re good -- I love you.’ And I hope you can say you love me back.”
After the presidential election, she launched an initiative of her Happy Hippie youth-activism nonprofit that encourages people to “turn emotion into action.” The new album is influenced from election results.
