Highasakite Premieres New Song “5 Million Miles”
Five-piece Norway indie pop band Highasakite has released a new song "5 Million Miles". The song was written by Ingrid Helene Håvik and Mikkel S. Eriksen.
Last year the band released their third studio album "Camp Echo", which reached number 1 on the Norway Albums Chart and shortlisted by IMPALA for the Album of the Year Award 2016. The new song follows up it.
Highasakite was formed in 2011, consisting of Ingrid Helene Håvik (vocals), Marte Eberson (synths), Øystein Skar (keyboard), Trond Bersu (drums) and Kristoffer Lo (guitar).
Originally, the band started as the duo of Ingrid Helene Håvik and Trond Bersu. Afterwards, they were recruited Øystein Skar and released a debut album "All That Floats Will Rain" in 2012. After the debut album, Marte Eberson and Kristoffer Lo joined in the group.
The band released their sophomore album "Silent Treatment" in 2014 and won "Pop Group of the Year Award" at the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy Awards, as well as the Bendiksen Award.
They performed live at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2016 along with Sting and Halsey in 2016.
The band will perform live at some fetibals in the summer such as Tysnesfest, Buktafestivalen, Bergenhus Festning, Jugendfest, Verket Festival and Hvalstrandfestivalen.
