Official Trailer for Daniel Day-Lewis's Final Film “Phantom Thread”
- Universal Pictures unveiled the first official trailer for "Phantom Thread" directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Lesley Manville, Vicky Krieps and Richard Graham. Daniel Day-Lewis's final performance in a film before retirement, has been unveiled.
Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Thomas Anderson, both created "There Will Be Blood" in 2007, which won Best Performance and Best Achievement in Cinematography at Academy Awards.
The film is set to be released on December 25, 2017
Set in the glamour of 1950s post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) are at the center of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutants and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Women come and go through Woodcock's life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love.
- Day-Lewis announced his retirement from acting earlier this year, in a move that surprised many in the industry. In a statement, “He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
