- First UK Trailer for “Final Portrait” Starring Armie Hammer and Geoffrey Rush
- Vertigo Releasing has released the first trailer for "Final Portrait" online. The film was directed by Stanley Tucci, who is known for playing Caesar Flickerman in "The Hunger Games", starring Armie Hammer and Geoffrey Rush.
In 1964 in Paris, the American writer and art-lover James Lord (Armie Hammer) is asked by his friend, world-famous artist Alberto Giacometti (Geoffrey Rush), to sit for a portrait. Though he had planned to leave the city the next day, Lord agrees.
But though Giacometti had promised the artwork would only take a few days, the artist's own creative demons mean the session stretches on, and in the process the friendship is explored and, occasionally, challenged.
The film had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 11, 2017. It is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on August 18, 2017.
Alberto Giacometti was a Swiss sculptor, painter, draughtsman and printmaker. In 1962, he was awarded the grand prize for sculpture at the Venice Biennale, which brought with it worldwide fame. Giacometti died in 1966 of heart disease.
American actor Stanley Tucci debuted as filmmaker with "Big Night" in 1996. To date, he has directed 6 films including "Final Portrait".
As actor, he performed in "The Terminal" (2004), "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006), "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" (2014) and "Transformers: Age of Extinction" (2014).
